An announcement... 🫣

Writing/sharing/social media has been strange for me over the past year.

I keep oscillating between two extremes:

1. People miss me! I love sharing about my life! I should post more!

2. I crave having no expectations placed on me (by myself or by others). I want to just BE, and scroll whenever I want, no strings attached.

So...

While I might still re-post things from other people in my IG Stories here and there because that's fun and I want to spread the words that others are creating... And I'll still check my messages...

➡️ I think I might officially be saying adios to creating posts on IG and my FB business page. 😳

Even my personal FB page is looking thin these days. I mostly only post pictures every month or so for our extended family to see what the kids have been up to.

So...

I'm sorry if this is disappointing to the four of you who have truly missed my posts and stories here over the last year.

God's been doing A LOT of shifting in my inward and outward life, and I sense traditional social-media-building has to officially go. At least for now.

➡️ However... you all know I can't NOT write. 😉 I'm planning to revamp my website to be more of a landing page than a blog, and my biggest move is that -- Lord-willing -- I'll be posting more regularly in my new favorite place: Substack.

So if you'd like to still read my ramblings (I call my Substack publication The Farmgirl "Journal" after all) see the link in my bio and subscribe, or go directly to carrieroer.substack.com.

Who knows, maybe Substack will become your new favorite place to hang out online too.

Where is your focus today?

This has been my go-to coffee mug recently. It's from The Chosen. I bought it at The Museum of the Bible in Washington DC earlier this year... before my family had started watching the show. Now we're almost finished with Season 3, and even my kids are obsessed. 🩵 (I wrote a post about it recently on Substack -- check out The Farmgirl Journal linked in my bio)

Our coffee table is a pretty accurate look into our first two weeks of summer break.

Board games, Bible studies, fiction and nonfiction books, comic books, cat hair brush, bird identification book, and more...

Just out of the photo are a tissue box (allergy season), a tennis ball (dog life), and pieces of a robot (middle school robotics camp). Oh and a planner where I *try* to list out our activities and meal plan and to-do list each week.

These are the days of sleeping in, air conditioning, and wondering what day it is (if it's any day other than Sunday).
